CPSC

CPSC is an important consumer rights protection agency in the United States. It is the abbreviation of Consumer Product Safety Committee, which is the Consumer Product Safety Association. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) was established in 1972. Its responsibility is to protect the interests of consumers and maintain personal and family safety by reducing the risk of injury and death in consumer products. The main function of CPSC is to formulate producer self-discipline standards, and to formulate mandatory standards or bans for consumer products that do not have standards to follow. Carry out inspections on potentially dangerous products, and feedback opinions to consumers through various channels including the media, state and local governments, and individual organizations. CPSC is now responsible for the safety monitoring of more than 15,000 consumer products.

  Jurisdiction:

CPSC governs up to 15,000 consumer products used in homes, sports, entertainment and schools. However, products such as vehicles, tires, ships, weapons, alcohol, tobacco, food, medicines, cosmetics, pesticides and medical devices do not fall within its jurisdiction.

  main content:

  1. Establish uniform mandatory national standards across the United States.

  2. Further regulate lead-containing toys

  3. A traceability label is affixed to the toy.

  4. Transform the voluntary standard ASTM F963 into a mandatory standard.

  5. Implement mandatory third testing for certain children's products and control 6 kinds of phthalates in toys

  Certification:

CPSC is responsible for certifying various products sold in the market. This certification is also called CPSC certification.

CPSC's existing catalog manages 15,000 different products. CPSC rules are to collect product safety data, remind customers of the dangers of products, and ways to reduce harm. CPSC rules are used to deal with electronic oscillations, fires, and other factors that endanger safety. The CPSC rules also apply to products that are caught in lawsuits and fail to implement safety guidelines and cause injury or death. Manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers must make written reports on unsafe products tested, and only products with safety signs are allowed to enter the market.

  Security certificate required:

Importers and manufacturers must comply with the certificates of conformity provided by CPSIA's distributors and retailers. These certificates indicate that the product has been properly tested and complies with CPSIA requirements. Without these certificates, it is likely that the product will be rejected when they arrive in the store, so there are some built-in compliance checks in the new behavior.
